When is The Day of the Dead?

November 1st honors deceased children and infants, whereas past adults are celebrated on November 2nd. November 1st is refered to mainly as "Día de los Inocentes" (Day of the Innocents) or "Día de los Angelitos" (Day of the Little Angels). November 2nd is the actual "Día de los Muertos" (Day of the Dead).

The celebration that has evolved into the modern "Día de los Muertos" came in the 9th month of the Aztec calendar, which was around the beginning of August, and was celebrated for the whole month. Back then the festivities were dedicated to a goddess known as the "Lady of the Dead".
